I finally sat down to write out my fertility journey. I have gone back and forth on whether I wanted to share it or not, mainly because I don’t have a great way with my written word like so many others that share things, but I figured I would give it a shot. Infertility of any kind can be a very lonely place (even though there are so many that struggle with it) and I know that it always helped me to hear other’s journeys. When we first started trying with Harper, it took about 7 months or so to finally conceive. That felt like a long time back then but knowing the big picture now, that was not so bad. We are very thankful to have a healthy sweet and awesome girly! It had always been our plan, however, to have two children and to have them close together. Obviously, God had other plans for us. After having Harper and waiting the recommended months, we started trying again. Month after mo...

18 Months!

My baby is 1.5 years old!!! She's growing up so fast. I honestly feel like I can't blink or I will miss something. She is such a little sponge and is picking things up so quickly now. I definitely feel that her being in a preschool setting during the week is helping her both educationally and socially and I feel very blessed that she has such wonderful people surrounding her on a daily basis. She is such a smart girl and her little sense of humor is so great! She is so silly and sassy and she knows it! We love her and her personality to pieces and we feel so extremely blessed to be her parents!  Height/Weight:  I am not sure about her specific height but she is definitely getting closer to the door handles that she is always reaching for. ;) As for her weight, she likes to stand on the scale in our bathroom so we now know she weighs about 25 pounds.  Sleep:   She is a wonderful sleeper. She goes down as early as 7 and no later than 8 duri...

15 months + 4 days update

Image
It has been quite a while since I have had the down time to do a blog post but since I am out sick with the flu for a couple of days I thought I would take the time to update. Harper has been up to soooo much since she turned one! She's talking and signing and "running" and climbing and dancing. :) Her vocabulary both sign language and speech (off the top of my cloudy flu brain) consists of: more, please, thank you, dog, dada, mama, all done, up, down, etc... This girl amazes me every day and I am so in love with her brain and personality. She is a book lover! Much of her time in the play room is spent with her going to and from  the book shelf to our laps to read all the books. She loves dance parties. We turn the music up and as a family we all dance around.  She makes friends with random people when we are out and about. She waves at everyone and loves when they wave and smile back! She is a big fan of hugs and kisses to and from those she loves. And she loves...

Harper's first Birthday :)

Image
Now that I can look back and reflect on the past year, I can honestly say that the first few weeks were very challenging for me. I was extremely sleep deprived, I cried/sobbed every night for a week, due to pure exhaustion. I had thoughts that my life was going to be a struggle from there on out. Now that I can look back on it, though, that couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, there are struggles in parenthood, always, but nothing like what was going through my head in the early weeks. I absolutely LOVE being a mother. And being a mother to my sweet baby Harper brings me to (happy) tears sometimes because I honestly don't know what I have done to deserve her.  She is such a beautiful girl inside and out and watching her kind, and loving personality blossom has made me such a happy mommy. Her life has brought so much joy to us and to many others and we have God to thank for it all. For getting us through the tough first weeks and months. For blessing us with a ha...

11 Months!

Image
My tiny little baby is already 11 months?! It is truly mind boggling how fast little ones grow and it sure does pull on a mommies heart strings. I will be soaking in this next month because from what I hear, and have experienced a little bit as a nanny, once they hit one they turn into little toddlers. No matter what though, she will always be my little baby. ;) God has truly blessed us with such a beautiful baby girl, inside and out, and we are so overwhelmingly thankful. <3 Diapers:  size 4 Clothes:  9 month and 12 month Teeth:   She just had her third tooth pop through yesterday. So now she has two bottom teeth and one up top. :)     Sleep:  Now that I am working and she goes to nursery, she wakes up for the day around 7:30 and goes down for the night at 7. Now that she is super busy having lots of fun at nursery during the day, she sleeps even more awesome then she did before (at night that is) :) Food:  Sh...
