18 Months!
My baby is 1.5 years old!!! She's growing up so fast. I honestly feel like I can't blink or I will miss something. She is such a little sponge and is picking things up so quickly now. I definitely feel that her being in a preschool setting during the week is helping her both educationally and socially and I feel very blessed that she has such wonderful people surrounding her on a daily basis. She is such a smart girl and her little sense of humor is so great! She is so silly and sassy and she knows it! We love her and her personality to pieces and we feel so extremely blessed to be her parents!
Height/Weight:
I am not sure about her specific height but she is definitely getting closer to the door handles that she is always reaching for. ;) As for her weight, she likes to stand on the scale in our bathroom so we now know she weighs about 25 pounds.
Sleep:
She is a wonderful sleeper. She goes down as early as 7 and no later than 8 during the week. Daddy gets home around 7:30 so we try and stay up so that they can see each other before she goes down for the night. Some days we make it but some nights she's very obviously ready for bed. :( Weekdays, I wake her around 7:30 am and on the weekends she will sleep until about 8:30-9am. Maybe I'm not waiting long enough or something but she never sits up when she's awake but rather just lays there with her thumb in her mouth and her eyes open. Some times she will lay there and play with her stuffed animals but unless I am looking at the monitor I wouldn't know if she was awake or not!
Eating:
This girl would eat fruit all day every day if she could. We try and keep her meals as balanced as possible but she is not a fan of veggies which makes it tough to get those in. The only green she will eat are peas, which isn't a bad thing but I would like for her to give more of a variety of veggies a try. Her favorite foods are beans, chili, kiwi, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, chicken nuggets, PB&J sandwiches, popcorn and mac and cheese. We are big fans of Cracker Barrel so she loves pretty much any food we give her from there as well. :) She is also so good at using eating utensils! She still makes a mess of course but she impresses me.
Clothes:
I am a big fan of consignment shops and hand-me-downs. I enjoy the hunt and the treasures I can find for such good prices. Her grandma is where we get most of her brand new things and we are so thankful for those too. Grandma can't help herself when it comes to shopping for Harper. I can't say I blame her though because that kiddo looks so stinking cute in just about anything, and I have splurged at times as well for that very reason! She is in 18-24 month clothing.
Likes:
Harper loves going to school and seeing her friends there. She likes to color but, like most her age, a lot of the time coloring is spent asking her to take the crayon out of her mouth. She likes to stack up her blocks and then knock them down. She likes to open and close doors and to play peek a boo from behind them. Seeing her toothy little smile and hearing her say boo as she peeks from behind the door is so much fun for the both of us. She likes to read and will "read" just about anything she sees that has words on it. She looks at words (in books, on wrappers, on her toys, etc. ) and starts babbling, likes she's reading what it says. Speaking of babbling, she "talks" a lot during the day and I would love to know what she is saying! The words that she does know and can say are da-da (says that one A LOT), ma ma, Desi, more, thank you, hi, bye, love you, Easter, apple, water. Her vocabulary is growing more and more each day which has been so much fun! She loves her doggies and they love her back, especially since she tends to leave a nice trail of food where ever she goes. ;) She likes it when I sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider and she will do most of the hand motions to it. She also likes to pray! :) She puts her tiny hands together and will sometimes close her eyes so we pray little prayers through out the day, which I love and I am so thankful for the little reminders to be in constant prayer. ;)
Dislikes being redirected when she is getting into something that she shouldn't be. We do a lot of redirecting....and fits are thrown.
I love this girl more than I can even put in to words and I love, love, love being her mommy!
