Harper is TWO weeks old!

Happy two weeks (and two days) of life baby girl! What an amazing gift you have already been to mommy and daddy. :D I love you in a way that I never knew I could love and I can't wait to watch you grow. <3 Today, Harper had her two week check up and she is doing great! She now weighs 8lbs 1oz, so she has gained about half a pound! And she measures at 20 5/8 inches. She's growing so well :) I'm a proud mommy! Yesterday, Harper got to be a little baby model. :) It took a little bit of time to get her to fall asleep but once she did, things went smoothly and she was beautiful! I swooned over her the whole time and had one of those "I cant believe she's really mine" moments. It was a wonderful experience and Amy, with Little Fredericksburg Photography ( http://littlefredericksburgphotography.com/ ) did such a wonderful job. She really was like a baby whisperer! :) We got a few sneak peeks yesterday, so I will share those below. I love them and ca...

Birth Story

Harper's Birth Story <3 October 9th, 2013 2:09 7 lbs 9oz  19.25 inches long First moments with my girl <3 You can totally tell I've been up for 30 hr + ;) So this is how it all went down (sorry if I ramble...) : I woke up around 12:30 am on Tuesday morning (Oct. 8th) with contractions that were definitely more intense then the Braxton hicks ones that I had been experiencing, so I began timing them. Sure enough they were pretty regular, at about 30 min apart. I just laid in bed the rest of the night and around the time that Tyler was supposed to be getting up for work I told him that maybe he should just stay home with me because I could just tell that this was it and who knows how fast things would end up going. So I continued to have contractions throughout the whole day and probably drove myself crazy as I tried to keep track of them. They got closer together as the day went on but never to the point where they were 5 min apart for an hour, whi...

Another update- Post dr. appointment:

Today's doctors appointment went well. :) First they hooked me up to a machine, as seen above, which monitored baby's heart rate and my contractions. The midwife said that the results were text book perfect so that it was up to us on what we wanted to do next as far as being induced and such. We decided that we would rather wait and see if she will come on her own since she seems healthy in there and since I am feeling good. Therefore she had us schedule another biophysical profile, which is just an ultrasound that measures the amniotic fluid and checks out baby to make sure all is well. That is happening on Thursday, and if all is well with that, we will have another doctors appointment on Monday. At that point we will schedule an induction date for either that Tuesday or Wednesday. We are praying that she will arrive before all that but FOR SURE she will be here by mid next week! The waiting is almost over :)  Mommy and Daddy love you very much little Miss.Harper a...

Just a little update: 40 weeks and 6 days

I am so sorry for not posting in a while. Ever since my due date has come and gone and Harper has stayed put, my days have consisted of eagerly awaiting labor signs. This has been pretty frustrating at times as the signs will come and then they will go, but I know when she is ready she will come. :) I just need to keep busy and feel blessed that the waiting at the end has been the roughest part of my pregnancy. I have a doctors appointment set for tomorrow (Monday) around 3:30, at which they will then schedule a day for me to be induced if Harper doesn't come on her own. My doc is not a fan of unnecessary inductions as they can up the chances of emergency c-sections, so he said that his comfort zone is no earlier than ten days past a due date. That would put me at the 10th of October. So we are hoping that by the end of next week we will for sure have a baby girl! :) I would love to have her come on her own but we will just have to see how it all plays out.
