7 months


This one almost snuck by me! I can't believe my little baby girl is already 7 months. This morning while I was feeding her, and listening to some jams, Taylor Swift's song "Never Grow Up" came on and I may have teared up as I stared at my little miracle....
 Here are some of the lyrics:

I thank God for her everyday! She is such a HAPPY/EASY baby... I think we will keep her. ;) 

Weight: I'm guessing somewhere around 16 lbs. Ill check when she wakes up ;)


Diapers: Size 3

Clothes: 6-9 Month for the most part.

Sleep: Still getting 12-13 hour nights. The night after her first hotel stay and road trip to Radford, she slept for 14 hours! She did some major catching up on her sleep.

Food: I nurse twice a day, sometimes more. For the most part though, I nurse in the morning right when she wakes up and then again before she goes down for the night. She is loving eating real food too! After struggling with spouts of constipation we have been careful about what we feed her and stick to foods like prunes, plums, pears, peas, zucchini etc. It's going to be fun to add more foods to the mix this month. :)

Milestones:
  • Drinking from a sippy cup
  • Recognizing family and friends she see's often
  • Rolling over consistently from belly to back
  • She rolls over to her belly all except for the arm that usually gets stuck under her body. :p
Likes/Loves:
  • Playing Peek a Boo
  • Food with a few exceptions
  • Her swim lessons! That's a fun one for mommy too!
  • We sing "Jesus Loves Me" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" before bed every night and she loves it :)
  • Her doggies make her laugh when the wrestle/play
Dislikes:

  • For the time being she is not a fan of avocado! We shall try again in a few days.
  • Getting her nose wiped. She has had a consistent runny nose lately with no other symptoms (maybe the beginning of teeth?) and is not a fan of tissues. The Nose Frida has been our friend though! 
  • A constipated belly :( Its getting much better though!

Went to Radford! It was such a great time.

Celebrated Harper's first Easter with family friends and a picnic. :)

14 Weeks

I wasn't sure if I was going to do a weekly update or not but I think it would be fun for the sake of me getting to look back on this super awesome adventure. ;) Also, I have always enjoyed reading blogs and keeping up in peoples lives, so for those who would like to stay informed about whats going on in my pregnancy/life in general, this is for you too!  Baby bump at 14 weeks Size : Baby is about the size of a lemon. 3 1/2 inches. Total weight gain/loss: The numbers are starting to creep up a little bit each week. :) It is sooo nice having an appetite again but now I want to eat all the time! The goal, though, is that slow and steady wins the race. I read that I should be gaining at least a pound a week since I was a normal weight pre-pregnancy.  Maternity clothes: I'm in that annoying stage where my old clothes are starting to get a bit too snug but most maternity clothes are way too loose. So I have been wearing a lot of legging and t-shirts for the time being. :)...

26 weeks

26 weeks I've got the 'smuggling a melon' look going :) Size : I'm not feeling lazy today so I will actually talk about Harper's developments this week instead of just copying and pasting. ;) This week she has hit the TWO pound mark! And she measures about 9 plus inches. Her eyes are beginning to open this week as well! Although there's not much for her to look at in my womb, she moves more if she senses light (or hears loud noises). I actually just went to a movie and she was moving like crazy through most of it. Now I know why! It was noisy :) All this responsiveness is connected to the fact that her brain is more developed and sophisticated at this point! Yay!  Total weight gain/loss: Things have been staying pretty steady this past week.
