Had another great weekend. :-) Tyler went to the NASCAR race with one of his friends, so I spent the morning with my mom and the evening with some of my friends. It was a busy Saturday but Sunday was so relaxing so it was the perfect balance for a weekend! It has been nice to have such relaxing weekends, because in the month of May, I have something planned for every single weekend. I love this though, especially when the plans are such fun ones! :) 17 weeks baby bump Size : Baby is about the size of my palm and weighs about 5 ounces. The heartbeat is now regulated by babys brain and he or she is now practicing the survival skills that it'll need at birth. Little baby is growing up so fast. lol Total weight gain/loss:   Still g aining them pounds! It seems like the weight gain has sped up a bit lately. I get so surprised looking at the scale these days because it has been rising so much faster than I'm used to, but that's a good thing for now.  :-) Maternity ...

Tyler and I had a weekend with no plans! This rarely happens, so we decided that we would spend that time doing some spring cleaning. :) We had SO MUCH stuff! Its amazing how much you can accumulate through out the years, and now that one of the rooms we used for storage is going to be occupied in a few months, our space has become limited. We both had to do some major letting go of things. I am normally one of those " but what if i need this random thing later" kind of person but now I just need space! Anyways, getting to spend so much time with the hubby is always great and we really had a great time making room for baby. It was fun getting to just sit in baby's room together and imagine what its going to be like in about 5 months. Puts a huge smile on my face :D 16 weeks baby bump. My word, black really is a slimming color! haha  Size : Baby is about the size of an avocado this week. He or she is about 4 1/2 inches. :) The bones that are in place in its e...

Overcoming Anxiety

During my senior year in college I started on the pill, for menstrual cramps, and then I began having these random feelings of anxiety. I would have a hard time getting excited about things and was afraid to go places and always felt kind of light headed in a way. It was annoying but it wasn't happening often enough for me to really look into what was causing it. Then one evening in March 2012, Tyler and I were just watching TV in our basement when all of a sudden I had a panic attack. I had a hard time breathing and my heart felt like it was beating out of my chest, I was clammy, I felt faint and then as I laid in bed that night I got zero sleep and could not stop shaking. It was really scary and it was the last straw. I linked it to my birth control pill,  Ortho Tri - Cyclen.  After Tyler and I talked it over we decided that it was time that I get off of it. Little did I know that the transition of being off of the pill would put me in an even worse whirl wind of...

First of all, I lift up my thoughts and prayers for all those affected by the tragic events that took place yesterday in Boston. I also want to remember and pray for those who were affected 6 years ago by the terrible events at Virginia Tech. It all makes me so sad but I know that God is good and that if we all stand together during times like this love will always prevail. My good friend, Megan Hilton, reminded me of this scripture a few weeks ago when I was so nervous about getting my blood drawn and it has been helpful everyday since, but especially yesterday as I tried to process the terrible things that happen in this world. The scripture is 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline." With so much evil in the world, it can become easy for us to live in fear. When I find myself getting scared and anxious, I repeat this scripture to myself and I feel an instant sense of peace. We ...

I wasn't sure if I was going to do a weekly update or not but I think it would be fun for the sake of me getting to look back on this super awesome adventure. ;) Also, I have always enjoyed reading blogs and keeping up in peoples lives, so for those who would like to stay informed about whats going on in my pregnancy/life in general, this is for you too!  Baby bump at 14 weeks Size : Baby is about the size of a lemon. 3 1/2 inches. Total weight gain/loss: The numbers are starting to creep up a little bit each week. :) It is sooo nice having an appetite again but now I want to eat all the time! The goal, though, is that slow and steady wins the race. I read that I should be gaining at least a pound a week since I was a normal weight pre-pregnancy.  Maternity clothes: I'm in that annoying stage where my old clothes are starting to get a bit too snug but most maternity clothes are way too loose. So I have been wearing a lot of legging and t-shirts for the time being. :)...

Finding out :)

So, about a little over a year ago, Tyler and I started the baby discussion. After we prayed about it and talked it over we felt like we were finally ready! In my mind, the whole process was going to all happen super fast but God had other plans. After about 7 months of getting discouraged with negative test after negative test we finally got a positive!     It was 2 days before my birthday and I was about a week late. In my journal, I wrote about how unlike every other month, THIS time I was going to wait until I was super late so that I wouldn't get my hopes up yet again. Then Tyler got home and we talked ourselves into me taking another test! It didn't take much to convince me (after all it was my birthday that weekend, and if I wanted a birthday drink, I'd better be safe than sorry.) When I saw two lines on that stick I started bawling my eyes out! Tyler kept asking if I was serious and then he got really excited and did his best to calm me down. ...
