Finding out :)

So, about a little over a year ago, Tyler and I started the baby discussion. After we prayed about it and talked it over we felt like we were finally ready! In my mind, the whole process was going to all happen super fast but God had other plans. After about 7 months of getting discouraged with negative test after negative test we finally got a positive!
It was 2 days before my birthday and I was about a week late. In my journal, I wrote about how unlike every other month, THIS time I was going to wait until I was super late so that I wouldn't get my hopes up yet again. Then Tyler got home and we talked ourselves into me taking another test! It didn't take much to convince me (after all it was my birthday that weekend, and if I wanted a birthday drink, I'd better be safe than sorry.) When I saw two lines on that stick I started bawling my eyes out! Tyler kept asking if I was serious and then he got really excited and did his best to calm me down.  :-) For about an hour afterwards I could not stop shaking. The moment that we had been wanting and praying for, for so long, was finally here and it was all so much to take in!
The months before, I always thought about the fun ways I would tell my parents and it all went out the window when the time actually came. I could not keep in this huge news and had to tell them right away! But before I made that decision I told my bestest friend Kristin, my sister and my brother! They were all so thrilled and getting it out really helped me calm down a bit. Finally it was time to give my parents a call. I would have loved to have told them in person but they were in Florida on vacation and there was no way I could wait until they got home! Of course when I called them the reception was terrible so they had to call me back. Guh! So much waiting! Then when my dad finally called back he asked what was up and I tried to be as nonchalant as possible as to not give anything away with out my mom being there too. So I told him I needed to talk to him and my mom together. Of course I was thinking that he had totally caught on at this point but he told me later on that he thought something bad had happened, which would explain why he seemed so concerned as we waited for my mother to get to the phone. Silly pops! Anyways...Finally they were together and I was able to break the news to them that they were going to be Grandparents!!! I could tell just by the way they sounded over the phone that they were so thrilled! They are going to be wonderful grandparents! I only hope I can be as wonderful a parent to my children as they are to me and my siblings.
Of course, both of my parents are super excited about their grandchild, but my dad especially has been waiting very patiently for grand children. He has created a beautiful garden in their back yard and for a while now has been adding in things that he knows children would enjoy. Fortunately, as I am a nanny, the child proof garden has been tested and approved! The girls I watch now LOVE the garden and I am so excited to watch my own children grow up playing in it too!
Well there you have it! My version of the day that changed our lives forever. :)
