15 Weeks

First of all, I lift up my thoughts and prayers for all those affected by the tragic events that took place yesterday in Boston. I also want to remember and pray for those who were affected 6 years ago by the terrible events at Virginia Tech. It all makes me so sad but I know that God is good and that if we all stand together during times like this love will always prevail. My good friend, Megan Hilton, reminded me of this scripture a few weeks ago when I was so nervous about getting my blood drawn and it has been helpful everyday since, but especially yesterday as I tried to process the terrible things that happen in this world. The scripture is 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline." With so much evil in the world, it can become easy for us to live in fear. When I find myself getting scared and anxious, I repeat this scripture to myself and I feel an instant sense of peace. We have God on our side and he has given us a spirit of power, love and discipline; so lets be kind to one another, defeat fear and love will win in the end.

15 week baby bump :)
Size: Baby is about the size of an apple. He or she is about 4 inches and weighs 2 1/2 ounces :) He/she can now move all joints and limbs. And although the eyelids are still fused shut apparently baby can sense light!

Total weight gain/loss: Still on track with a pound or so a week. I definitely feel better when I make sure to eat small meals about every 3 hours.

Maternity clothes: I bought my first piece of maternity clothing this past week! It was just a maxi dress, so technically I could probably wear it post pregnancy too, but it says maternity on it so its official! haha

Gender: 5 more weeks till we find out! I cant wait! I'm so ready to get started on baby's room. :)

Names: We have begun throwing name ideas around but because I am so indecisive I am sure it will be ever changing for a while lol
Boy names on our mind: Eli, Parker, Jackson
Girl names on our mind: Addison, Ella, Emma

Sleep: I have been sleeping all through the night lately which has been very nice.

Cravings: Still craving fruit. Since I am not a big veggie eater, I was excited to find that certain fruits give you the same nutrients as certain veggies. For example, kiwi's are full of vitamin k, potassium, fiber and vitamin c. And strawberries, like broccoli, are abundant in vitamin B and folate! I still eat veggies from time to time but it is so much easier to snack on fruit and much yummier in my opinion. :)

Symptoms: Still feeling great! As my belly grows more and more, it all becomes more real to me! I have also been told that feeling the baby kick is definitely a time where it really sets in. I am excited for that moment whenever it may be!

Best moment this week: Yesterday, I went down to the basement to do some yoga. When I was done, I just sat there in silence (silence in my life is rare lol), held my belly and prayed for baby. It was before I had heard about what had happened in Boston, but I felt the need to pray for my baby as he or she comes into this scary world. I prayed that God would prepare him or her and Tyler and I as parents for whatever the future holds. It was good moment because I felt such a sense of peace and really connected with baby in a way I hadn't to this point.  <3

Funny things: Months before we found out we were pregnant, Tyler and I were walking around Target and Tyler spotted something that we just had to have! Of course it happened to be something that was probably a limited edition there, so I okied the purchase of the two piece Jeff Gordon onesies! As ridiculous as it was at the time, they are pretty cute and I am sure, whether its a girl or a boy that we have, Tyler will dress him or her up in this "gear" for race days. :)

Go Jeff! :)
My mom also couldn't contain herself and bought some gender neutral things <3
