20 Weeks

HALF WAY THERE!

What an awesome week :) It feels so good knowing the gender and being able to focus my attention towards girly things! Woop woop! Time to get to work on this nursery. We still have lots of time, but it has been teasing me for so long as we waited to know if we were going to have a boy or a girl!


20 weeks :)

Size: Baby girl is about 10 inches from head to heel- about the length of a banana. She weighs about 10 1/2 ounces. She is swallowing more these days which is good practice for her digestive system. Her mouth was open in most of the ultra sound pictures that we have of her, so I definitely believe that shes getting some good practice in! :)


Hopefully she has fingers lol She didn't show those to us at this ultrasound!  ;)
                                     
But we know she has toes! Love this one <3 


Total weight gain/loss: My appetite is really strong lately and the feeling that I am eating for two has definitely hit! This may not be the best, but with this "party" that we just had, we have an over load of junkie food in the house, so yes, the weight gaining is for sure happening. ;)

Maternity clothes: My wardrobe options are dwindling even more than I had expected, so I am having to be very creative these days. 

Gender: Its a GIRL <3

 Movement: I love when she moves <3 And I am able to feel her a lot more as she grows bigger each week!

Sleep: I fall asleep very easily but for the past few nights I have been waking up around 4 am and have trouble going back to sleep. I also had my first night mare about baby being really sick in my belly and that's never a fun feeling. :( Hopefully that was just a one night thing but I hear these kinds of dreams are normal as a part of pregnancy anxiety.

Cravings: Popcorn, chocolate, lemonade, cherries

Symptoms: My belly is feeling super tight and my back aches more than usual.

Baby Names: Now that we know we are having a girl, we were able to narrow it down some more. So hopefully we will nail down a name soon!

Best moment this week: Obviously finding out that we are going to have a baby girl was the highlight of my week! :)

14 Weeks

I wasn't sure if I was going to do a weekly update or not but I think it would be fun for the sake of me getting to look back on this super awesome adventure. ;) Also, I have always enjoyed reading blogs and keeping up in peoples lives, so for those who would like to stay informed about whats going on in my pregnancy/life in general, this is for you too!  Baby bump at 14 weeks Size : Baby is about the size of a lemon. 3 1/2 inches. Total weight gain/loss: The numbers are starting to creep up a little bit each week. :) It is sooo nice having an appetite again but now I want to eat all the time! The goal, though, is that slow and steady wins the race. I read that I should be gaining at least a pound a week since I was a normal weight pre-pregnancy.  Maternity clothes: I'm in that annoying stage where my old clothes are starting to get a bit too snug but most maternity clothes are way too loose. So I have been wearing a lot of legging and t-shirts for the time being. :)...

26 weeks

26 weeks I've got the 'smuggling a melon' look going :) Size : I'm not feeling lazy today so I will actually talk about Harper's developments this week instead of just copying and pasting. ;) This week she has hit the TWO pound mark! And she measures about 9 plus inches. Her eyes are beginning to open this week as well! Although there's not much for her to look at in my womb, she moves more if she senses light (or hears loud noises). I actually just went to a movie and she was moving like crazy through most of it. Now I know why! It was noisy :) All this responsiveness is connected to the fact that her brain is more developed and sophisticated at this point! Yay!  Total weight gain/loss: Things have been staying pretty steady this past week.
