27 weeks and glucose test

27 weeks

Phew! What a weekend of nerves. As I stated in my last post, I had my glucose test this past Saturday. My nerves have been on edge until this evening when I got the results. I PASSED! I am super thrilled about this because the idea of doing the 3 our glucose tolerance test sounded pretty miserable to me.
My 1 hour test was quite interesting to say the least. Tyler and I arrived at the lab around 7:45 Saturday morning and they called me back right away to fill out paper work and to drink the orange sugar drink. It really wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be, but I do have quite a sweet tooth so that may have been why. It just tasted like flat orange soda. To be honest, the OJ that I had at breakfast after the test was much sweeter to the point where even I had trouble drinking it! Anyways, I was feeling pretty good after I drank the drink and was thinking that this was going to be pretty easy! Then about 45-50 min in, I started feeling horrible. I was for sure I was going to pass out. It hit me so fast and sudden that I didn't know what to do! I am just so thankful that Tyler was there because I was able to lay my head on his shoulder until it passed. Which it finally did, thank the Lord! What a miserable feeling, though. So then of course about 10 min later they called me back and the blood draw went well. It hurt more than last time but I made it through again without feeling faint! Wahoo! So of course because of how miserable I felt during this test, I was pretty nervous about the idea of sitting there for three hours and them having to draw my blood 4 times if I were to fail this 1 hour test. So I am so very thankful that I passed. And there you have it, my story of the dreaded glucose test. :)

Size:  Harper is no longer measured from crown to rump but now from head to toe! I have a doctors appointment this Friday and I am going to ask for some measurements to get some specifics. But as far as the average stats, she is around fifteen inches! That's more than a foot long! Her weight is also creeping up, coming in at just over two pounds. She also may recognize my voice by now, which is so cool! Time to start singing lullabies and reading stories to my belly aka Harper, haha.

Total weight gain/loss: I was getting a little bit concerned because I hadn't gained any weight for about three weeks but then this morning I had gained a pound so I think she's back to her growing spurts. :)

Maternity clothes: Wearing what ever fits :) This reminds me...I need to do some laundry!

Gender: Girl, Harper Patrica :)

Movement: She is still moving a lot! I have been spotting what looks like an elbow or a knee or something from time to time which is a weird sight but so wonderful. :) I actually caught it on video so feel free to check it out!

SleepI have been sleeping pretty well still. I have this week off so I have a lot of opportunity to sleep in which is helpful. :)

What I miss: At this point I miss nothing. :) Just thankful that Harper and I are healthy and doing well!

Cravings: Cherries! I have been eating them like they are candy :)

Symptoms: Besides the random and very minor aches and pains in my abdomen and back, I have been feeling very good this week. Walking either on the treadmill or out with the dogs really helps keep the aches and pains away so I try to do that at least once a day. Oh, and pregnancy brain has struck! I seem to not be making any sense at times, I am forgetting things places, mixing up all my dates and all that jazz. :)

Best moment this week: I just want to shout out to my wonderful husband who has been very busy at work lately! I am so thankful for him and all that he does for our growing little family. This past week and even this weekend, he has been working a lot of overtime for a project that he was a part of and I can tell that he is tired yet he still does such a great job at caring for his pregnant wifey :) I love you so much babe and thank you again for all you do!
