Harper's 2 months

Image
Warning - sappy mommy words to follow:  ;-) It's hard to believe that just a little over two months ago, I was sitting here very pregnant and thinking that Harper was never coming out haha She was only nine days "late" but those last few weeks and then days past my due date felt soooo long. I absolutely loved being pregnant but I was so very ready to meet our baby girl. Now she's two months old and growing so fast! I am loving motherhood and how it's one of the most challenging and exhausting yet most wonderful and awarding experiences that I have ever been through and it is only the very beginning! :-D I love the feeling of knowing that this is exactly where God wants me to be right now and I am so blessed and thankful for my wonderful hubby who also works hard so that I am able to stay home and raise our baby girl. Happy two months baby girl!! We love you!! I will be doing another update after her doctors appointment on Friday but here are some update...

1 month checkup :)

Yesterday, the 15th of November, you had your one month check up! Everything looked great and you behaved much better then you did for your two week check up. But then again we were the first appointment that day and the weather was chilly so everyone had very cold hands! I would have cried too...;)  Here are your one month stats: Weight: 9 lbs 4 ounces Height: 20 3/4 You were in the 50th-ish percentile for both height and weight and then they measured your head and apparently it is pretty big! They actually measured it three times to make sure they were getting the right measurement, haha. I think he said you were some where in the 80th percentile as far as head size (I need to write this stuff down). Just means you have a big brain. Smart girl ;) Clothes: You are starting to grow out of your new born stuff! This makes me a little bit sad but I am glad that you are growing nice and healthy! :)  Sleep: You are getting more sleep then mommy that's fo...

I can't believe you are already a month old baby girl! They don't lie when they say time flies, so savor every moment. :-) This has been one of my most challenging, exausting, most wonderful, and fun months of my life and I can't wait to have many more awesome adventures with you! You are such a beautiful baby girl and I Love you so much! Happy one month, and here's to many many more. :-D

Harper is TWO weeks old!

Happy two weeks (and two days) of life baby girl! What an amazing gift you have already been to mommy and daddy. :D I love you in a way that I never knew I could love and I can't wait to watch you grow. <3 Today, Harper had her two week check up and she is doing great! She now weighs 8lbs 1oz, so she has gained about half a pound! And she measures at 20 5/8 inches. She's growing so well :) I'm a proud mommy! Yesterday, Harper got to be a little baby model. :) It took a little bit of time to get her to fall asleep but once she did, things went smoothly and she was beautiful! I swooned over her the whole time and had one of those "I cant believe she's really mine" moments. It was a wonderful experience and Amy, with Little Fredericksburg Photography ( http://littlefredericksburgphotography.com/ ) did such a wonderful job. She really was like a baby whisperer! :) We got a few sneak peeks yesterday, so I will share those below. I love them and ca...

Birth Story

Image
Harper's Birth Story <3 October 9th, 2013 2:09 7 lbs 9oz  19.25 inches long First moments with my girl <3 You can totally tell I've been up for 30 hr + ;) So this is how it all went down (sorry if I ramble...) : I woke up around 12:30 am on Tuesday morning (Oct. 8th) with contractions that were definitely more intense then the Braxton hicks ones that I had been experiencing, so I began timing them. Sure enough they were pretty regular, at about 30 min apart. I just laid in bed the rest of the night and around the time that Tyler was supposed to be getting up for work I told him that maybe he should just stay home with me because I could just tell that this was it and who knows how fast things would end up going. So I continued to have contractions throughout the whole day and probably drove myself crazy as I tried to keep track of them. They got closer together as the day went on but never to the point where they were 5 min apart for an hour, whi...

Another update- Post dr. appointment:

Today's doctors appointment went well. :) First they hooked me up to a machine, as seen above, which monitored baby's heart rate and my contractions. The midwife said that the results were text book perfect so that it was up to us on what we wanted to do next as far as being induced and such. We decided that we would rather wait and see if she will come on her own since she seems healthy in there and since I am feeling good. Therefore she had us schedule another biophysical profile, which is just an ultrasound that measures the amniotic fluid and checks out baby to make sure all is well. That is happening on Thursday, and if all is well with that, we will have another doctors appointment on Monday. At that point we will schedule an induction date for either that Tuesday or Wednesday. We are praying that she will arrive before all that but FOR SURE she will be here by mid next week! The waiting is almost over :)  Mommy and Daddy love you very much little Miss.Harper a...

Just a little update: 40 weeks and 6 days

I am so sorry for not posting in a while. Ever since my due date has come and gone and Harper has stayed put, my days have consisted of eagerly awaiting labor signs. This has been pretty frustrating at times as the signs will come and then they will go, but I know when she is ready she will come. :) I just need to keep busy and feel blessed that the waiting at the end has been the roughest part of my pregnancy. I have a doctors appointment set for tomorrow (Monday) around 3:30, at which they will then schedule a day for me to be induced if Harper doesn't come on her own. My doc is not a fan of unnecessary inductions as they can up the chances of emergency c-sections, so he said that his comfort zone is no earlier than ten days past a due date. That would put me at the 10th of October. So we are hoping that by the end of next week we will for sure have a baby girl! :) I would love to have her come on her own but we will just have to see how it all plays out.

1 week

*~1 week and a day until Due Date!~*  Which I guess technically makes me 39 weeks? Maybe I have been a week behind on posts...lol I don't really know but what I DO know is that it's getting so close!!!! :D  I have a hand full of friends that are also pregnant...YAY for babies! And a few of them are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their little ones any day now as well. I have been so excited about all the babies that have been born lately and am getting very excited to see the new faces that will hopefully be showing up very soon! Good luck ladies and I hope L & D goes smoothly for us all! <3 She's getting SO big.... :) Size :  Baby girl is gearing up to see the world! She is still layering on the fat to help control her body temperature once she is born. She is about the size of a mini Watermelon weighing about 7 pounds and measuring about 20 inches long. The outer layers of skin continue to fall off as a new layer forms underneath. :)   ...

37 weeks- Full Term!

Image
*~37 weeks~* Annnnnnny day now! :) But also maybe any week now.... I am hoping for her to arrive sooner than later because things are getting quite uncomfortable but I know she will be here when she's ready. Gotta love the waiting game!  As we get closer to the big D day I have surprisingly become less nervous and more ready for it all. I think women were built that way because I have heard this happen to a lot of other ladies as well.  We had a good sermon at church this morning about fear and why we shouldn't.  The #1 way to conquer fear is to trust in God. This is exactly what I needed to hear.  7  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  2 Timothy 1:7 Size : YAY little Harper! You made it to full term! I am still 3 weeks from my due date but if she were to arrive now her lungs would be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. She is about 6 1/3 pounds an...

36 weeks

Image
*~36 weeks~* In lieu of football season beginning I thought I would wear my gear ;) Even though it obviously does not fit to well right now haha  It's September, the month of baby girls due date!!! I am getting so excited to meet her. <3  Due to being sick with a cold last week, I skipped my 35 week post so there is lots of catching up to do in this post! :) And I have LOTS of photos to share! Size :    Baby girl is still packing on the pounds, an ounce a day to be exact. She now weighs almost 6 lbs and is more than 18 1/2 inches long, which is about the size of a head of romaine lettuce. Now here comes the gross part. So if you have a weak stomach just go ahead and skip ahead ;) She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. She swallows both of these substances, along with other things, resulting in ...
